2010... you've been both really good and really hard on me. You've taught me a lot about life, love and friendship. The year began pretty well... I had no complaints. I had a lot to be thankful for, wonderful friends, a loving family, a job, a roof over my head & so on. As the year went by... so did life. Let's sum it up real quick...
In February, Tiffany left for China and I've missed her like crazy since. We welcomed Megan & Bryce's (my cousin's) first beautiful baby, Channing, in late April. In July, our close family friend, Hillary, passed away which left us all speechless & devastated. Mid-July, Hannah & Dan got engaged!!!! Late July I met Eric but didn't know until October that he was the one I'd fall in love with, that he was the one I hope to spend the rest of my life with. The last few months were full of meeting a ton of new friends and family whom I've come to love!
2010 was an emotional year in great ways but also in very heartbreaking ways. I've grown so much from all the experiences and am extremely thankful for everything I have in my life. I think I really learned how precious life truly is and no matter how much I think my life is hard, that there's always people out there that have it worse. I take life for granted all too often. It's sad that it takes a tragedy, like losing Hillary, to remind me.
I think about her everyday. Her life was far from perfect and she had a lot of obstacles to overcome, almost on a daily basis. I don't understand why God put her through so many challenges but I do know that she was a real blessing to our family. She had a heart of gold. She was beyond sweet and I have a lot of really great memories that I will cherish in my heart forever. It still breaks my heart that her life ended when she was only 20 years old but she's not suffering anymore. She's up in heaven with her daddy. She's one of our angels now and I'm blessed to have her. Hilly, you have shown me more than you'll ever realize. You were a sister to me & I won't ever forget the time we got to spend together. You also have inspired me to live my life a little different, I try to live everyday like it's my last. I don't always succeed and I know there are many days when I will forget. So as a part of my New Years Resolution I will make an conscious effort to live each day to the fullest. I love you Hilly & miss you everyday.
2011 will bring lots of good things. I couldn't be happier that I could spend the first moments of the year with Eric. He is a blessing to me and I am excited for what this year has to bring for us. Hannah & Dan get married in a little more than 7 months now, on July 30th! I get to not only be in my first wedding, but I'm the Maid-of-Honor! I couldn't be more excited for them and I can't wait to have a brother officially!
Life is changing everyday and it's exciting! I am trying to keep a positive attitude and find the good in everything. I don't want to ever take anything for granted and I want to make the most of everything. I want to make many new memories & renew friendships that have gotten somewhat lost. 2011 is going to be a good year... I will make sure of that. I can't wait to see what happens!
